Narendra Damodardas Modi is the current and the 14th prime minister of India. He is the member of parliament for Varanashi and was the chief minister of Gujrat from 2001 to 2014.

Early life and education
Narendra Modi was born in a lower middle class gujrati family in a Vadnagar. He helped his father selling tea at his tea stall and later ran his own. He was third of the six children born to Damodardas Mulchand Modi and Hiraben Modi. Modi completed hi schooling in 1967. He was a an average student in his school life but was keen debater as described by one of his teachers.
Early political career
Modi first discovered Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh at the age of eight. He started attending it’s local shakhas. Modi met Lakshmanrao inamdar who was know as Wakil Saheb and later became modi’s political mentor. He traveled for two years around India and returned to Gujarat in 1967 or 1970. He moved to Ahmadabad in 1970 and became a full time worker of RSS. he had to hide himself in 1975 when emergency was imposed on India.

Modi as the Cheif minister of Gujarat
In 2001, Keshubhai Patel was the cheif minister of Gujarat but his health was failing. Gujarat BJP also lost a few seats in by-elections. In 2001 Gujarat faced one of the biggest natural calamity of all time. It was the earthquake of Bhuj. Many people died. The pressure was on the leadership of BJP as a result they had to sought for a replacement. BJP leadership showed trust in Narendra Modi although some of the biggest names in BJP were not happy with this choice. Just one year after he became the cheif minister of Gujarat the Gujarat riots happened. As a result he was being blamed for the delay in the deployment of the forces. Somehow modi kept on growing. As a political figure and helped Gujarat in becoming one of the fastest developing states in the world.
Modi as the Prime Minister of Indiia
In the parliamentary elections of 2014 Modi was competing as the prime ministerial candidate. BBP won 282 seats in the parliamentary elections out of 543 seats. BJP came into power in 2014 and Narendra Modi was elected as the 14th prime minister of India. Modi sworn in as the prime of India on 26th may 2014 with a cabinet of 45 minister, 25 lesser than the previous government. He has faced many allegations and lack of cooperation by the opposition. could not help it. He will be working as the prime minister till 2019.
