Bosnian War(1992-1995):

Bosnian  War which  took  place  from  1992-95  and  the  relation  it  had  with  the war in Croatia between 1991-95.  In it the Bosnian war is viewed from  two  different  angles:  firstly  the  perspective  from  inside  the conflict  area,  notably  the  war  in  the  field  and  its  effects and
secondly   the   perspective   of   international   high   politics,   where Former Yugoslavia is just an object in the world power-game. Bosnia-Herzegovina was comprised of three ethnic groups: Serbian, Croatian and Muslim. Initially, Croats and Serbs expanded their territorial control at the expense of the Bosnian state. According to the ICTY Demographic Unit, an estimated 69.8% or 25,609 of the civilians killed in the war.


Greek Civil War (1946-1949):

The Greek Civil War was fought in Greece from 1946 to 1949 between the Greek government army and the Democratic Army of Greece. The fighting resulted in the defeat of the Communist insurgents by the government forces. After World War II, the Greek nation with its ruined economy and unstable government faced an increasingly strong Communist insurgency. Total: 158,000 killed 1,000,000 temporarily relocated during the war.


Sri Lankan Civil War (1983-2009):

The Sri Lankan Civil War was an armed conflict fought on the island of Sri Lanka. Beginning on 23 July 1983, there was an intermittent insurgency against the government by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil. As the war continued, thousands of Tamil civilians were caught between the government army and the LTTE – and were killed by both sides. In 2009, according to United Nations estimates, about twelve hundred non-combatants (Tamils) were being killed each month.

 Somali War, 1991(ongoing):

The Somali Civil War is an ongoing civil war taking place in Somalia. It grew out of resistance to the Siad Barre regime during the 1980s.Somalis use the word burbur(‘catastrophe’) to describe the period from December 1991 to March 1992, when the country was torn apart by clan-based warfare and factions plundered the   remnants of the state and fought for control of rural and urban assets. Four months of fighting in Mogadishu alone in 1991 and 1992 killed an estimated 25,000 people, 1.5 million people fled the country, and at least 2 million were internally displaced.
